Luxrobo, a Korean start-up in the field of coding education, received the Worlddidac Outstanding Award 2020 in recognition of its MODI education platform for robotics.

LUXROBO’s MODI is one of the 27 short-listed products for worldwide promotion in the education sector, recognised as pedagogically valuable, innovative and/or of high quality, and will receive the prestigious Worlddidac quality label 2020. The winners in nine categories of the 27 selected educational solutions will receive the best product of 2020, the best innovation approach and the Swisscom ICT Innovation Award. However, the award ceremony was postponed due to the circumstances of COWID-19.

MODI was rewarded for its performance in the most competitive category of educational materials for primary education with 14 out of 27 nominations.

The prestigious Worlddidac Award, which is presented every two years, is an independent recognition of innovation, quality and practical use of learning materials. This is the highest award in the world in the field of education, given by the Worlddidac Foundation and the Worlddidac Association. An international team of dedicated Swiss experts and professors will examine the products presented from the point of view of innovation, design, sustainability and above all their suitability and feasibility. This prize is awarded to designers, developers and manufacturers for their creativity and constant innovation.

MODI is LUXROBO’s industry-recognized modular coding training set, designed to create and connect DIY robots. LUXROBO currently supplies MODI kits for public education worldwide in countries such as Korea, Luxembourg, Singapore, Thailand and the United States.

MODI modules include input, output and configuration modules that enable students to learn key concepts within the computer science and coding curriculum in an engaging and engaging way. Through project-based practical exercises, pupils of all ages can solve problems in a logical way and develop their critical thinking and numeracy skills. In combination with the STEAM program, 3D printing and LEGO bricks, the MODI lessons really come to life.
